Lake Linganore - The Brosius Dam
Lake Linganore at Eaglehead is a rural lake community situated in the southeast section of Frederick County, Maryland, east of the city of Frederick and 45-miles from both Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland.
Originally planned in 1968 as a "New Town" by then developer Linganore Corporation, Eaglehead was the county's first planned unit development (PUD). The community of villages is centered around a system of lakes, the centerpiece of which is Lake Linganore, a 210-acre lake, the largest privately owned lake in the state.
The master plan of the Eaglehead PUD laid out the community in smaller "villages," each with its own identity. The homes within these villages range in style (such as single-family, townhomes, condos, executive mini-mansions, and golf course-front homes) size, and price.
