History of MLS PIN -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MLS Property Information Network is a privately REALTOR® owned multiple listing service that provides services to the real estate community in Massachusetts. The company was incorporated in 1997, and is a result of a merger between Bay State MLS and MLS-1. The initial goal of this merger was one set of rules, one form, and one state-wide electronic lockbox system for the entire state. The result has been more than ever anticipated. When the two companies initially merged there were there were 2,800 real estate offices in the state, and therefore, 2,800 shares of stock were made available. The corporation sold 500 shares and purchased the stock and assets of Bay State MLS and MLS-1. When the doors of MLS PIN opened in February of 1998 there were approximately 11,000 subscribers to the service. Today that number has doubled with more than 22,000 customers that subscribe. Kathleen E. Condon has served as President and CEO of the corporation since its inception. The company originated in Worcester, MA. In 2002 MLS PIN purchased a building in Shrewsbury with the goal of a more convenient statewide location and an in-house training facility. There are currently forty-two employees.
