| FROM MARK...
I am grateful for Robert placing his trust in me. As a result, I was enlisted to assist three more California relocation to North Carolina families immediately in a row as a direct referral... FROM THE BUYER... My wife and I had talked for years about someday moving out of California. The over-priced housing market made that decision much easier. However, we were both born and raised in the Los Angeles area and were understandably anxious. After very thorough research, we decided Raleigh, North Carolina would be the best place for us, our 3 young boys and 2 dogs. Not knowing anyone in that area, I decided to try to find a Realtor on the Internet. Mark's website appealed most to me, due mainly to the testimonials, the wealth of information and the helpful links. It also didn't hurt that he was a native of the area. I entered my search information and Mark contacted me that afternoon. I informed him we would be visiting soon for a week and would not be making a move out there for at least 1 year. I wouldn't have been surprised if he had told me to contact him again as our move time shortened. Instead, he treated me as though we were his most important client. He scheduled a time for my wife and I to meet him while we were there and even set up an appointment for us to meet with a loan adviser to answer any questions we might have at this point. Meeting Mark assured me we had made the right decision. He was honest, very knowledgeable and seemed to really be interested in finding out what we wanted in a "dream home". Over the next couple of months we communicated by phone and email and Mark kept a close eye on the home searches I ran while on his website. I shared with Mark how I really would like to purchase a home before we actually made the move out there. Mark assured me that finding the "right" home was what we needed to focus on. We scheduled a weekend to return to the area and met with Mark on a Saturday. I had emailed Mark ahead of time 12 properties we felt fit our desires and Mark scheduled viewings with all of them, plus one he thought we would like. Coming from the Los Angeles area, where most of the homes are 50 + years old, we were like kids in a candy store with all the new homes. We pulled up to the first home and stepped out of the car, quite impressed. Mark's first question was, "Do you see what's wrong with this home?" Our obvious answer was, "No!" Mark pointed out that it backed up to a busy road, something we should consider having 3 young boys and 2 dogs. This was the first example of how Mark's expertise helped to notice things we might have otherwise missed. Towards the end of the long day we had found a couple homes we thought were adequate, but not our ideal home. That was when Mark suggested we take a look at the home he had selected based on the searches I had been running and the discussions we had. When we pulled into the neighborhood, we were excited, but cautiously optimistic. As we drove around our excitement grew. We pulled up to the home and walked in. Within a few seconds, my wife and I looked at each other and said, "This is the one!" Mark proceeded to assist us greatly in our discussions with the builder, even helping us to secure a site we really wanted and asking the important questions we wouldn't have thought to ask. Mark has continued to provide great assistance and friendship as we get closer to our move. We would highly recommend Mark to anyone interested in "finding their dream home". He sure found ours. He's also a great resource for authentic North Carolina cuisine...remember that cafe? Robert and Lisa and the Boys Happy California Transplants Apex NC |
